Xiaorong Liu, PhD
Xiaorong Liu is an assistant professor in ophthalmology and neurobiology at Northwestern University. Her laboratory is interested in investigating the regulation and misregulation of neural structures and functions in normal retinal development and in diseased condition, specifically to understand how neurotrophins, a group of survival factors for neurons, can be used to protect retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and preserve vision in glaucoma. Liu will join the faculty of the University of Virginia in the summer of 2017.
