Marina Vidaki
Marina Vidaki is an assistant professor of molecular-cellular biology in the Medical School of the University of Crete, Greece. Vidaki's research focuses on axon biology and the molecular mechanisms that generate and regenerate connectivity in the CNS. She grew up in Greece and studied biology at the University of Crete, in Heraklion, where she pursued a MSc in molecular biology, and a PhD in developmental neuroscience, at the University of Crete and the Institute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology (IMBB). Vidaki's graduate research focused on the development of the cerebral cortex, and she became interested in neuronal migration and axon guidance. Vidaki continued her postdoctoral research at MIT, where she worked on neuronal cell biology, uncovering novel mechanisms of local translation regulation during neuronal development.
